DID NOT FINISH: 71%

There's a lot to like about this book. It's well written and the characters are good! It's just that Ezra is so clearly terrible (very hard to sell that he's a good friend!) and Malcolm is a perfect unicorn. There's not much tension. I wish these fictional people well, but I could not finish this book.

i’m sorry but i did not enjoy this book at all :( storyline was so childish, kinda boring, and so anticlimactic. social media being the backbone of the story just pmo. every character was just, unlikable. the writing just did not hit for me.

i started with the audiobook and literally ended up daydreaming during every chapter. bought the physical version to help me change my mind. i still felt the same.

really enjoyed! so many sweet moments. thought the writing was good with many memorable moments. i appreciated that it remained interesting throughout with new elements to keep us along for the ride while being more character-forward. enjoyed seeing each character’s thought process analyzing situations & people & the depictions of depression. loved the balance of a fun, classic romance read with deeper themes.

I really enjoyed the non-linearity of the story as it was told. I struggled a bit with the split POV - not because it was split but because it bounced between first and third person. I greatly appreciated the thread of awareness surrounding mental health woven throughout the book.
