Because Gregory didnt really arouse much curiosity throughout the series, I wasn't looking forward to read this book much. I just wanted to finish the series (because my brain is a policeman in disguise waiting to guilt-trip me to hell if I do not finish a book or a series).

By those standards, though, On the Way to the Wedding was good. Lucy is quite a feisty heroine and Gregory is not as wishy-washy as Colin or Benedict were. Nor as idiotic as Anthony or selfish as Phillip or as charismatic as Michael Stirling (sigh).

In fact, Gregory was completely normal (why does this sound so surprising to me?) and thought he was in love with someone until he realized the error of his ways.

3 stars.

P.S. Hermione Watson reminded me of Hermione Granger + Emma Watson. A happy coincidence since I am also reading the HP books and watching the movies now.

"You know that I am engaged to be married." Lucy said quietly.
[...]
"I know. I was invited [to the wedding]."
"Oh." Lucy supposed she ought to have known that. "Erm, do you plan to attend?"
Hyacinth looked up. "Do you?"

That's it. That's the plot of this book.

I loved the prologue anticipating what was going to happen, especially because when I got to that point later in the book I was 100% sure it was going to go a certain way, but of course it didn't. I liked the drama even if it felt too dragged out at the end. Either way, Lucy and Gregory were lovely together.

Wow. Just wow. What a way to end this particular series. This one had a twist I couldn’t see coming and I SOBBED at the second epilogue. Ugh. My heart. I’m so sad it’s over. Every time I finished a book in this series, I thought JQ had outdone herself and couldn’t possibly make a better story. Every one GOT BETTER. Loved. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to see the seasons play out on Netflix

So much drama for a big finali
