the expectations for this were low. very low. impossible to limbo under. on the floor. possibly subterranean altogether. and perhaps that is the secret — because i didn’t hate this one.
it was far, far too long, and it took far, far too long to get the plot moving, but it was actually kind of … cute? it still felt like a fever dream, but perhaps one that kept me company in the throes of the flu rather than one that terrified and bewildered me to my very core (*cough*, book one, *cough*)
it was the perfect CC2 hangover cure. like a greasy bagel from your least favorite but most conveniently located bodega

After loving the first two books I expected more from this one. Way too drawn out. I constantly felt like the plot was going nowhere. Found myself wanting to skip pages and paragraphs to “get going.” I also didn’t like that the narrative was split. Hadriel’s POV was okay, but when I saw that we were going to get multiple POVs I got excited to see Nyfain’s…only to get a couple of really crappy chapters sprinkled here and there. I feel like if she had given us more from his perspective on rallying the kingdoms, it would have kept the momentum going instead of all this time spent in the dungeon.
Their reunion and Hannon’s (um hello WHY are we not getting more about this hot redhead?!) mystery animal were the only things keeping me going. Though I did enjoy Micah’s little show of power.

Omg THANK YOU for bringing back other pov’s for this book(I missed the multiple pov in book one). And it being Hadriel
I really enjoyed the build up in this one. It got long winded at points, but overall a good read! Ready for the final installment!
This was perfect. Far more balanced between plot and smut. Another reveal at the end we certainly saw coming but enjoyed all the same. And guess what? I’m excited and ready to start book 4. I demolished this in less than a day. And it’s a fairly long book so I think that’s quite telling.

Slower pacing than the other books because we are doing a bit more build up for the final book. Good storyline and the ending had me losing my mind.
spicy and heartbreaking
I think this has been my favorite so far! I loved the bonding between all the characters. I loved the jealousy. I loved Nyfain. And the end? Crazy.

Okay, yes. This was SO much better than books one and two. Book 3 made reading the first two absolutely worth it.
