I can see what people mean when they call this book a “filler” book but I actually enjoyed this book for the most part.

It had a decent pace (compared to the last book). It was overly sexual (and I love a good sex scene. My only complaint about it was the weird bond masturbation pain/pleasure thing coupled with Hadriel watching Nyphain jerk off. That was just too weird and not at all sexy. Maybe it could have been made sexy in some way but it wasn’t written sexy.

This book has moments of humour and I liked the new characters that were introduced. I would actually give it 3.5⭐️s.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ~ Very good.

This was a really great third book! I found it quite different from the first two, as in this one Finley and Nyfain are pretty much apart for the whole thing! Finley undergoes so much torture in the first part of the book, rather than the usual spicer treatment she received in the first two books. I found that this book was really great for character development - for Finley but also the side characters such as Hadriel. Their animals were explored more thoroughly, and way more was at stake in this book in regards to finally facing the demon king. Finley also won support from the dragons, fae AND wolf kingdoms! Talk about badass.

So glad we finally got to see Finley shift in this one and we saw her animal finally emerge! I knew she was a dragon, she just HAD to be. Her and Nyfain’s bond is unmatched. I’m very happy she eventually made it back to him!

I have a feeling the final book is going to be quite interesting. That ending was…intriguing! Will Finley be with child? Does Nyfain gain his wings back? And how in the world is Ami going to meddle with things?! Looking forward to reading the next!

By far my favourite in the series so far. This book hit all the points for me. Adventure, humour, love, longing, surprises and heart warming tales of unlikely personalities coming together. Hadriel was by far the star of the show, comedic relief much needed with all the tears I shed (from a range of emotions). And let me just say I fell in love with Leala in this story too.

This book is my least favorite in the series so far, because it feels rushed. Finley and her boy toy are apart for 90% of the book, and their time apart is spent strengthening their bond. Okay great! Except it is shallow, imo, because we don't get any real details about anything. there are just moments of insight, instead of a well flushed out scene that reveals hidden plots and purposes for what is going on. We get none of it, and therefore there is no meaningful character development or plot progression. I wish the author wrote to the story, not just to the characters. Also, the last 20% of the book should have been the majority of the book, because that is when our characters have real opportunities to grow in leadership and beat back the evil threat. Instead it is very rushed and feels flat because of it. It's sad.

The 2nd and 3rd book in this series should have been combined. hear me out. Both book 2 and 3 are very, very slow in plot progression, they are primarily there to develop the relationship between Finley and Nyfain. Okay fine. But a better way to do that would be to have real conflict and challenges for them to face, with the smut serving a purpose. But it is actually the opposite with these books. The plot is vague and only there to create opportunities for sexy time between the two characters.

Honestly i'm very disappointed because the story and world and characters are so, so good. But it all kind of falls apart the more you read the series.
