This book had a lot of potential, but it felt very surface level. It had all the makings to have deeper characters and have the setting be a character and really delve into some of these complex storylines, but didn’t really go deep enough to make the story very rewarding. There were some cute aspects and it was a quick read, but I just didn’t like it very much. I found myself rolling my eyes or gagging a lot, and I didn’t think the main character’s relationship was very healthy.

Okay…. This book was recommended from Book Tok. It was really slow to start. I mean, really slow. I hated it, it seemed shallow and unrealistic. But when you hit a certain point (about 70% in), it starts to get pretty good. Overall I think the plot is shallow and unrealistic but it was still a good story. It wasn’t BAD. The spice is decent and we love Brendan. Piper annoys the hell out of me. 3.75/5 for me.

Good romance. Rich heiress falls for a boat captain for a crab boat. Lots of personal growth for her which was enjoyable to see

I just can't with Tessa Bailey, this is the second DNF for me so I think it's time to accept defeat. Bailey's characters are just not for me. At all.
