After escaping a near tragic fate, Morgan realizes that all she knew and loved for the past three months was a lie. Cal is evil and tried to kill her, and Hunter is not the bad guy he actually seemed to be. In fact, the more Morgan gets to know Hunter, the more she wants to be with him. Her feelings confuse her, but it's almost as if her soul is connected with Hunter.
As the romance between Hunter and Morgan develops, a terrible evil is being called upon by David, the coowner of the Wiccan store, Practical Magick. Hunter, the Seeker, finds out that David called upon the evil magick in order to save his store from being taken away by a rich man who had plans to knock it down in order to create his new business. That means that David will have to be stripped of his magic, and Morgan is one of the four blood witches who has to witness the event.
David being stripped of his magic is traumatic for everyone involved, but it brings Morgan and Hunter together. In the end, Hunter shows Morgan an unfamiliar stone that he says holds the heart's truest desire. The stone is Morganite, and in it, Morgan sees an image of Hunter.
I loved this book. It was thoroughly captivating, and I cannot wait to pick up the next book.

In a review thst I previously read, they said that this book was slow compared to the previous books. I don't completely agree with that person's opinion. Some parts were a little slow but I think that is true for any book. In Awakening, you get to know Sky Eventide and Hunter Niall a liitle better. Morgan's powers don't develop more like they did in the previous books but she does seem to be stronger as a person. I like how Cate Tiernan keeps the character development continuously going throughout the series.
More of a 3.5 on this reread. The dialogue is still not great, and the mystery plot in this is seriously flawed. However, the last section is emotional and thought-provoking.

I love Hunter so much and his love for Morgan makes me tear up. 😠I love them.
The story is pretty predictable. The audio is easy to listen to and just flys by. I wasn't very shocked with anything in this book. Hope the next is better
honestly this is the first book in the Sweep series to straight up bore me. I forgot how very dull Hunter is as a character most of the time.
(also TW for some homophobic attacks in this book, it’s not too too graphic or anything but just heads up.)

3 Stars
This one felt sooooo short in comparison to the other novels in this series. I mean, yes, they're all short, but this one was like Boom - done.
Not a lot of plot this time around though I feel like what was there will be important moving forward.
Because this is so far into the series and they're so short, I don't want to say much more than that.
I'm still having a great time reading them and I really love Morgan.
Cover 2; Characters 3; Plot 3; Pace 3; Writing 3; Enjoyment 3.

This wasn’t as good as the previous books but I think it’s all setting it up for more twists later. I can’t wait!
