Learning more about the other sides of Magick. I still feel like character relationships are forced and rushed. Especially on the romantic side.
I think it's great that Morgan was saved by Bree and Robbie. The two most important people in her life before Wicca. (And besides her family) and even though I hated Bree for her bitchy actions I wished she and Morgan would be best friends. Friends are very important. I know that too and I feel it also that way.
I also feel this link with Morgan right now. Sometimes she reminds me of me. The way she thinks of herself and the way she thought of Bree as her best friend (not the bitchy moment). How she felt beautiful thanks to Cal and that it felt so bad that he left her. I mean she felt nothing special about her looks, she felt plain and Cal made her beautiful. She says she feels plain again. It was all but a trick she thinks and that makes you feel ugly. Not that it ever happened to me but I also feel plain. Nothing special. I make the best out of my life though. Just like she does. She takes the step everytime. Eventhough she doesn't want it. Just like going to the stripp of magic moment with David. She didn't have much choice but still she went in the end.
I loved the ending. Hunter and Cal are so different and you see it that he is more showing he loves her than Cal does. In my eyes. I mean Cal has been the popular one. Able to hang out with everyone and Hunter is only Hunter. He can't be somebody else and he is not comfortable with people. The kiss was differend with the: "Oh." "Oh Indeed." Hunter said blabla. I liked that and when he left that he gave her a quick kiss again. Wauw speaking of romance with the stone. I want such a boyfriend.
What I also liked is that Morgan explains that she was jealous of Sky and that she knew that Sky didn't trust her yet but when she cried or flinched she hid her face in Sky her shoulder. Sky came after her to explain what Hunter did and Sky took care of her after the stripp of magic moment. So maybe Sky doesn't trust her but she is making an effort.

Original rating: 5 stars.
Reread rating: 3.5 stars.
Originally when I read this installment, it was probably one of my favorites, if not my favorite. Upon reread it's not a favorite. I still enjoy it but Morgan got on my nerves a lot in this one and that dragged it down.
Morgan was so stubborn when it came to
I liked that Bree and Morgan are tentatively getting their friendship back. There were mistakes made on both of their parts and I'm enjoying them navigating their way back to friendship.
Again, I listened to this on audiobook and the audio was wonderful. It was super quick and easy to get through.
I was hoping my library had more of this series on audio but it doesn't, checked Audible as well but the series only goes up to book 5 on there too. So I think (hope I'm wrong though) that the other books in the series weren't produced on audio. If that's the case, don't know when I'll continue the series, since listening to them was the way I was rereading them this time around.

David possibly using dark magic that she just came across as stupid. She had just been duped by Cal and Selene, two people that she trusted and believed in, yet she is so sure that David is innocent. I could get behind her saying I don't think it's him but lets look into it, at least then she would be straddling the line between believing and skepticism.I liked that Bree and Morgan are tentatively getting their friendship back. “At that moment I remembered something Cal had told me: that there is beauty in darkness in everything. Sorrow in joy, life and death, thorns on the rose. I knew then that I could not escape pain and torment any more than I could give up joy and beauty”

I read this series as a teenager and I am revisiting it. I am enjoying them but they fly by.
Loved it totally. I really love morgan and Hunter together. Even though i am full on romance reader I am loving this book. Morgan deals with her break up with Cal and how much she survives it and her relation with Bree, I am really glad they are not enemies right now.It did tell us more of effects of dark power. This book dealt with all after effects after cal left and people can do to save something.

Betrayed by her first love, she is trying to come to grips with her Woodbane heritage and with Wicca -- its thorn and its rose.

Now we're talking. Awakening is a serious 100% improvement in the series. Lots of more development on the characters, the story has progressed to not only focus on what Morgan is doing, but also her friends and family.
I feel there has been a lot of growing up on Morgan's part, she has realized that Wicca is a part of her and that she cannot renounce it. Her being a witch is a part of her and the story is a lot of self-discovery and the fact that her friends are along with her has helped her grow up along with them. I can't help but remember that in book 1, all Morgan could think of was Cal's dreamy eyes, now she still thinks that of Cal but she also is thinking of her powers, her coven, her family, and everything around her.
