I loved this book. I could not put it down and for most of the book I was laughing or smiling so much my cheeks ached. The banter between Jasper, Cooper, Drew, Felix and Trent is brilliant. Jasper is so swoony, perfect book boyfriend material. Now off to read the rest of the series.

After reading Lulu Moore’s The New York Lions series, I was excited to see that she had written a hockey series. This book was a slow burn, but the writing style progressed at a good tempo. Basically the tension was building the entire time. The characters start out as strangers who quickly become enemies, or more so Wolfie thinks Jasper is the enemy after spilling coffee all over her. He does everything to win her over and evidently, they become friends. Jasper is doing his best to rid himself of his playboy persona and prove that he and Wolfie could really be something. This book was cute, fun, and sweet. I’m interested to see where the series goes next.

It is slow burn enemies to lovers. Jasper is super sweet patient will wait for Wolfie. I loved it when he called her cub. I can’t wait to read more about the guys.

While overall I enjoyed this one, and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series and author, I didn't fall in love with this one the way I was expecting to. I think my biggest issue was just the pacing of it. It was definitely a slow burn romance, which I do like, but it just felt a little drawn out at points, like some scenes weren't completely necessary for the story.

With that being said, I did really love the way the relationship between Jasper and Wolfie developed. I loved that she made him fight for that first coffee and I love the friendship they developed first. I also loved the interactions between Jasper and his teammates, as well as the interactions we got to see between the teammates and Wolfie. This books did a fantastic job setting up all the different characters we will see throughout the series, making me very interested to see where it all goes.

✔️ Strangers to Friends to Lovers
✔️ He Falls First
✔️ Instant Attraction
✔️ He Has to Work for It
✔️ Slow Burn
✔️ Sports (Hockey)
✔️ First Person Dual POV

Okay don’t come at me for reviewing this series out of order. Luckily all the books are interconnected standalones and even luckier they’re fudging amazing!!

Jasper and Wolfie’s story was the perfect combination of fast paced story and slow burn romance. I loved meeting these two in Lulu’s Tuesday Club series and loved them even more here. Jasper falls hard and I loved his pursuit for Wolfie. Rightly so, Wolfie makes him work for it. There are so many sweet moments between these two that had my heart hurt but then spice hits and what a build up! The nickname and MFW

Jasper! This man is so honest and lovely and wholesome. I loved him. Wolfie was scarred from her experience, and he was so patient and kind with her. It honestly made the story that much better!
