This book is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago when first written. A recommended read for anyone in any type of leadership position.

Its strongest chapter, in my opinion, is its last one - The Use of Spies.

"An army without spies is like a man without ears or eyes." Applies to armies and businesses alike.

It's overpraised. The book is not valuable so much in today's world.

This isn't my usual sort of book. I've only ever read similar books by accident (The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli) but I found this book quite interesting.

I liked how the chapters were fairly short and the ideas very clever. In the chapter 'The Army on the March' at one point it says "If those who are sent to draw water begin by drinking themselves, the army is suffering from thirst." This I thought was a really clever way of understanding the state of the enemy.

I'd recommend the version I have, though I can't find the name of the translator which I think should be somewhere in the book.
