This was a great story that had so many twists!! It started a little slow, but there was so much story to tell! The author didn't leave out anything! We meet Addie as a child and follow her throughout her childhood up until she's 20 years old and moves to New York from Georgia. As much as she struggled being different in her small farm town, she struggles to adjust to the big city life. After being called evil her entire life for seeing things no one else can, you'd think she'd be relieved to find out it's all real, but that's an even bigger adjustment for her. She has to grow internally and accept that different isn't always bad or evil. I loved Jack and how obsessed he was with her! He handles her so delicately, afraid to overwhelm her. But I loved how Addie transforms from this timid farm girl into a woman who "isn't a damsel in distress" and can save herself! I can't wait for the next book!!

The book was good. I usually don't like Fated Mates, but I think this book did it decently. The last 50 pages kind of ruined it, because I didn't... Get it? It didn't match the vibe of the rest of the book. Loved the reveal and I will be reading the next one.

I was really surprised by this book. I was having the hardest time continuing it. As intriguing as the story is, it was slow the first 75% of the book. However, the last 25% picked up so fast I couldn’t even put it down. I loved it so much that I was itching to read book two. The ending was not something I expected at all, and my initial rating went from 3.75 to 4.5. It’s beautiful!

It took me awhile to get into this one. The twists and turns in the last half of the book were fantastic though. I’ve read a fair amount of books involving fae and I really enjoyed the different takes on the human meets fae story.

I was consistently surprised by this book! The world building is excellent. The plot is not predictable. The beginning is a little slow and the main character is a bit annoying at times.
