*I love sprinkling in a few lighthearted and sweet reads into my reading list that's mostly full of dark romances. But very rarely do I devour them, like I did this one!*

After being left on her wedding, Shay spirals into a dark depression. Seeing how much her friends loved her and surrounded her with so much support and love was one of my favorite parts of this book! JAMIE

My first Kate Canterbury book. It was so cute and I'm absolutely obsessed with Noah.

Much of your enjoyment of this book will depend on how you feel about the 6 year old niece character (neurodivergent) who the Mmc Noah becomes a guardian of and is a heavy presence in the book. Also the pacing of the book felt a little off, with some plot elements happening too soon or too late in the story. If you love a stern, competent mmc who is secretly obsessed with the fmc and a female lead who is starting over after heartbreak, this book delivers. Lots of boutique farm elements (animals, jam selling, economics of small businesses) and small town living, but a little grittier than books like Lovelight Farms. The fmc Shay is plus sized (~US16) and her body is described very positively by the mmc with only a tiny bit of body insecurity/shaming from one minor character. The Mmc used to be an awkward, larger body teenager who now is conventionally attractive and there are a few side characters who make fun of his past self (not fmc).
The mmc definitely comes off as reserved and shy but is very take-charge during intimate scenes, but it is heavily foreshadowed so not a surprise. I loved the moment at the end where Noah shows Shay “proof” of his 15 year love/obsession with her and glad characters explicitly explained the farm name because I wasn’t following it lol

The blurb of this one pulled me in and I had to read it! It had me at Noah being a single dad to his niece. I had a hard time putting this one down. The small town setting was right up my alley as well. I love that Noah has big farm operation and he makes jam amongst other things. The humor of this book was a big winner in my book. Little Gennie was an awesome character. I loved how Shay just embraces her for her. Shay is looking for a fresh start after what her ex put her through. A blessing disguise comes when she learns she has inherited the Twin Tulip Farm from her step-grandma. It puts her on a path she never saw coming. She reconnects with an old friend from high school though Noah has changed in some major ways. Shay and Noah are so adorable together. Trust me the characters are so worth the read. This book is a winner!!
