Il finale, molto carino e inaspettatamente positivo, ha risollevato un po' tutto. Avevo intuito dove volesse andare a parare l'elemento sovrannaturale e così ho fatto un po' di fatica ad appassionarmi all'indagine di Mallory finché verso la fine il ritmo non è aumentato e l'autore ha introdotto degli elementi di vera sorpresa che, se anticipati o accennati un po' di più nella prima metà avrebbero tenuto la mia attenzione più alta.

The twist was interesting, but the whole... MC being a "good Christian girl" and the mother and father being big bad atheists who want to teach their children science not religion thing rubbed me the wrong way. Not to mention

the twist where the atheist parents force their kidnapped child to be transgender

was hella lame.
