Another fantastic book in the Alex Rider series. These books just keep on getting better and better! I loved the twists and turns and can’t wait to get stuck into the next one which I reckon will also be filled with plenty of revelations, action and adventures I’m sure.

Excited to see where else the series will go and I’ve loved following Alex and his stories and can’t wait for some more spy drama in the next book. I was definitely left wanting more after the ending!

I thought the series was losing steam, but Horowitz picked up the pace and added another dimension to Alex Rider.

I'm really starting to get into these books and although there's often not a mystery per se (you know who the bad guy is), how Alex gets through situations and escapes death makes you forget that he is only 14 years old, although they mention it quite a bit. With these books, you definitely have to suspend disbelief so you can just enjoy the action and adventure. With the violence that is in these books, I wouldn't recommend it for young kids, but I think older middle school/teens would definitely enjoy these! If nothing else, these would be a great intro to teens to spy/action/thriller books!

Alex is a teenage spy. He accidently runs into assassin Yassen Gregorovich in the South of France. Alex knows trouble is just around the corner, he just doesn’t know what trouble. Trouble comes in the form of a life-sized computer game and Alex is the action hero, dodging real spears, and battling snakes and Aztec gods.

The story development in this series is incredible. Alex hasn't necessarily had his own character development necessarily, but just when you get used to the generic parameters of MI6 using him for the first three books, having them not be as crucial to the storyline here was really refreshing.
