Oh my gosh. This book was extremely well written and had great characters and storylines and was well on the way to a 5 star review until the end. What a horrible ending. 24 hours of listening time and then....blah

Wow. [a:Ken Follett|3447|Ken Follett|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1604049089p2/3447.jpg] is back to thrillers! And what a ride. This one is pretty quick paced and journeys around the globe as the world leaders work to avoid full out nuclear war! Completely plausible, even if I do think some of the leaders act a little out of character (South Korea President No in particular). The book ends with a bang and completely leaves the reader hanging as to what happens after.

Another great read from Mr. Follett.

November is the month for giving THANKS and I am so thankful that two of my favorite authors published a new book this month! I really love Ken Follett books with their multiple characters, multiple continents, and complex intertwining plots. I really enjoyed all of the storylines, especially refugee Kiah. I admit my blood pressure really escalated at the cusp of Nuclear War, but much of the war and military strategy. Also the romantic storylines got a little cheesy for me.... but I will continue to read these books.

Badly edited and poorly passed. I love Ken Follett but this was my least favorite of his books that I’ve read.

I was absolutely gripped by this book. I loved the blend of politics and human emotion throughout. The explanation of the more technical sides was well done and added good context to the plot. I loved the way the intensity built slowly at the start but got exponentially more intense. Through to the end I was holding out hope they would somehow find a way to avoid nuclear war, but had the dread of knowing it would come. It’s a shame the US doesn’t have such a level headed president now!

A rollocking good read, although somewhat depressing given the current World situation.
