Feels like watching an episode of BBC’s Merlin. Despite the end feeling a little rushed,  I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Quick and classic, the ending and last sentence really pulled it together.
The magic was cool and for once in a long time she didn’t end up with a prince or king or someone of similar position.

I liked the world but the ending came too quickly. I needed more to believe the ending.

4.25 stars...I really enjoyed reading this standalone. I have read a lot of RA Salvatore before but this one was more YA fantasy than I am used to from him. Not mad about it. It has dragons, magic, swordsmanship, tournaments, death, destruction, plots, some romance, murder and powerful fmc. I liked the dual pov between Maggie and Griffin. Yes I would definitely recommend this. I heard about it on tt and am not disappointed.

I gave this book 3 stars. The Color of Dragons had such an exciting start—with a fascinating premise, compelling characters, and the kind of magical world-building that really pulls you in. It felt like it was heading somewhere epic.
But then... it just ended.
And I’m still confused about what actually happened.
The story had so much potential, and for a while, I was really invested. But the ending left me with more questions than answers, and not in the good, thought-provoking way. It honestly felt like half a book, with no clear resolution and no indication of whether this is meant to be part of a series.
If there is a sequel coming, great—maybe it will help everything make sense. But as it stands, the book feels incomplete. I wanted more—more answers, more development, more closure.
Still, if you're okay with open-ended stories and like fast-paced fantasy with a hint of romance and dragons, you might enjoy the ride. Just be ready to finish with a bit of a “Wait… that’s it?” feeling.
