This book was absolutely incredible. The plot was gripping and entertaining and it was a really good continuation for the series. It is going to my top 3 for sure.

My favourite bits:

- ALL THE PERCABETH MOMENTS (I seriously need this ship injected into my veins)

- Hazel and Frank's relationship start to really come together (I love them so much and their scenes never disappoint)

-Sammy / Hazel's backstory (i found it so interesting and always wanted to know more)

JASON AND PERCY'S RELATIONSHIP: i feel like these two are not talked about enough. Sure, they have some tension, but I truly believe that with time, they will become very good friends. (At least i hope so).

And, last but not least:

-Frank, Hazel and Percy's relationship (I genuinely LOVE their dynamic and I desperately need more of them)

Some of my fav quotes (except it's all Percy):

-"it wasn't so much drowning in the earth or the sea but the feeling that he was sinking into too many expectations"

-"He was feeling humble - even humble enough to pay tribute to the wine dude"

-"'We're staying together', he promised. 'You're not getting away from me. Never again."

Yeah, so Percy would kick Jason’s ass any day.

Well, here we go again. Another HOO book review - I'm sorry for the late review btw, my dear 2 readers.

"Wisdom's daughter walks alone,
The Mark of Athena burns through Rome,
Twin's snuff out the angel's breath,
Who holds the key to endless death,
Giants' bane stands gold and pale,
Won through pain from a woven jail.”

I want to start by saying that, thank gods, this book did not disappoint. The story was completely gripping from the beginning to the end, and so much was happening at the same time that there is no way you'd get tired of any of it.

First, let's take a moment to appreciate one particular character's growth, shall we?

"But Percy didn't feel powerful. The more heroic stuff he did, the more he realised how limited he was. He felt like a fraud. 'I'm not as great as you think', he wanted to warn his friends. His failures, like tonight, seemed to prove it. Maybe that's why he had started to fear suffocation. It wasn't so much drowning in the earth or the sea but the feeling that he was sinking in too many expectations, literally getting in over his head."

This is the saddest and most relatable quote of the whole book, and you can't convince me otherwise. Percy is, not even arguably, the best main character ever. He doesn't need to be funny all the time, or sarcastic- every scene of his hits. At the end of the day, he's just a teenager, like you (presumably, and even if you're not, you once were one - and if you're 10 or something just forget I said anything) and me. He struggles. He's not perfect. And that's the kind of protagonist we need. At one point, he even ruminates on Luke's previous decision to rebel against the Gods, on his spite. Percy felt that same spite. And to be honest, if Luke were to ask him to join him 5 years later, maybe he would have. And I absolutely adore this kind of character development.

Another aspect I really liked was the tension between the characters. Let's take Frank and Leo, for example. Because of Hazel's closeness to Leo, Frank says some messed up things to him. One of them being "I guess you care more about your ship than your friends." Considering Leo's struggles with human interaction and just his past in general, that was a low one. And the fact that all of this was because Hazel fell in love with Leo's great-grandfather... (still the biggest plot twist ever in my opinion).

Also, can we collectively just agree on appreciating the couple I just referred to more? Because they are most definitely underrated. Frazel has the cutest scenes, and yet they have little to no fanart in so many platforms.
Not to hate on the most famous ships, of course. They're famous for a reason- and that reason in this review is gonna be the paragraphs I'm about to quote.

Percabeth: " 'We're staying together', he promised. 'You're not getting away from me. Never again.' [...] 'As long as we're together', she said."
Jasper: " 'It's a break-up line. Unless you're breaking up-' Jason leaned over and kissed her. The colours of the Roman afternoon suddenly seemed sharper, as if the world had switched to high definition. 'No break-ups', he promised. 'I may have busted my head a few times, but I'm not that stupid.' "

Just overall a fantastic book and my favorite in this series so far. Definitely a 5* for me.
