Make Mine Magic

Super cute! I grabbed this on a whim and do not regret it. Claire was left at the alter, but that doesn't stop her from taking the honeymoon to New York. A librarian for Texas is swept away with balls and parties and of course the library. Until all things come up magic.
A cute, fun read.

estou alegrinha que o primeiro livro do ano foi tão fofo e reúne dois gêneros que eu praticamente ignorei em 2020 (mas que amo): fantasia e romance ✨

Listened to this through Audible Escape. It's a pretty unique story, and pretty light. Very casual and easy to listen to. It's not overly romantic, and the magic elements are cool. The narrator was pretty decent.

I was incredibly confused by this book.
I guess that's what I get for not reading what it was about at all, but the cover art looked similar to all the rom-coms I've read lately, and it was a top suggestion on Audible for me. So, I expected a rom-com with a little mystic energy (like Instant Karma) and not Gossip Girl meets Harry Potter.
It wasn't unwelcome, just unexpected. The plot could have been more explained, though. Which I guess it might not have been because it was written for audio. Strange mediums require strange outcomes.

Audible original, audiobook

This was a cute novella-length audiobook. The premise of a non-magic person becoming someone significant person in the magic community because of an object of power was interesting. I won't say more to avoid spoilers, but I thought the characters were good. The main character being a librarian, also fun, and the whole story enjoyable. I also thought the narrator (Karissa Vacker) did a great job.

Better than you'd think.
Of course it is light novel about non-magical person who accidentally walked into trouble with a magical community so it will lack of all the thrills and adventure.

However, it is enjoyable indeed and cute. The main character turned out to be interesting and independent rather than a pretty face and naive personality.

This was a super fun and super easy read about witches that was just so much fun. The politics between the magical society was so interesting and a really fun take on witches just in time for spooky season

2.5 stars. I picked this one up on Audible Escape. I read other books by Shanna Swendson in the past and liked them. This one just didn't quite hit the right note with me.
