Loved this novel. Loved the concept of a sapphic retirement resort in Florida (truly love the author picked Florida lol). Love the bit of dystopia feel mixed with flashbacks to present day and the last few decades.

Loved the characters. Loved the writing style. Loved the main story took place all within 24 hours but you wouldn’t reallly know it with the flipping to the past for important back story.

Loved grappling with death and knowing the right way to deal with your own and your loved ones.

Loved the ending. So gently portrayed and just beautiful.

Only area (& was very minor!) I was a little un-in-love-with was the one branch of Luke’s life that doesn't come out until further in the novel and I won’t spoil. Something didn’t quite click there - or something felt left out or shoved in or (?) was kind of a forced or rushed piece of the novel (?) I’m not sure.

This was a surprisingly delightful book about a woman on the day before she chooses to be euthanized.   In spite of the topic, it was joyful and life-affirming.  I enjoyed both the stories from her past and her night-before party.

This was a really sweet, really powerful story of love, life, and taking risks in life. The story takes place in a thriving retirement home in an abandoned Florida. The climate has done a number on the environment and the state is slowly being reclaimed by the sea. Hannah, our MC, has made the choice to end her life due to a cancer that the doctors can't cure. Throwing one last hurrah Hannah is surrounded by the love of her past and present. This was really well done. I loved the tenderness that the author had with the themes of death, suicide, heartbreak, and second chances. This does have some intense moments so be prepared for that.

ofc a man ruined everything, i really liked the structure of this book and i liked the plot and how it was set in a very realistic future, i think that the writing left a little to be desired but overall pretty good debut
