Well… I was not expecting that in any way, shape, or form. Although the illustrations started off beautifully, the book quickly became gory and horrific for no good reason. This is definitely not what I signed up for and I should’ve looked at the book description before diving into this dark world.

Absolutely sickening and beautifully dark (how apt!).
It takes a while to understand the pacing and swift changing of scenery but this was beautifully illustrated book felt like a punch in the gut. I entered in expecting childish pleasantness yet was slapped brutally by gore and sinister undertones...incredible!!!!
