Mina is sent by her father to be a blood donor & maybe baby mama to an important vampire. Except Malachi is nothing like her abusive father & him + his friends want to find a away for both Malachi & Mina to be free.

This book is very fast paced in the beginning, a lot of smut, in the first half of the book, but once you reach the middle of the book, the story starts to slow down. I agree with the other reviews that the plot didn't seem to have a great storyline and there seems like things were piecemealed together. I also agree that the main character could've had a better character development throughout the book.

TLDR: if you like vampire smut, and a lot of it, this book is for you. If not, the plot isn't the strongest so you might want to pass.

A really enjoyable read. Very simple and sometimes a bit too straightforward, but still fun regardless

As romance it doesn’t have soul and the attraction is not really believable. The plot is too fast to get any real development of characters or of their relationships. Its kinky erotica but I don’t believe it should be read for the plot

A really steamy book. I really enjoyed the different dynamics between all the character.

I want to start this review by saying that, while is book is objectively not good, I loved it anyway. I was hooked from the very beginning, and I just wanted to keep reading.

The writing itself is not great. There are tons of grammatical and spelling errors that would take me out of the story. Some of the lines of the characters are so cringe I would get secondhand embarrassment.

I will say the plot is minimal at best. If you took out the spice and left only the plot, the book would maybe be 100 pages. I don't think it was a well rounded plot either. The whole plot centered around Mina getting pregnant to declare herself her father's heir and then kill him, but I felt like her father was killed too easily. It just felt like an anti-climactic ending.

I can't say I loved all the characters. I felt like Mina was a bit annoying and was constantly a damsel in distress. There were hints of times where she would show a backbone but then she would immediately revert back to damsel in distress when a man was around. I did love Wolf, Rylan, and Malachi. I thought they were such fun characters but we did only get surface level views of them.

This is a semi-low fantasy, but I don't feel like the world was very developed. I don't understand how the magic system works at all. I still am not sure how you get a bloodline vampire. I feel like none of that is explained. Also, out of the whole world, why is the compound in Montana? And how was Mina being tracked? A lot of these things are just holes in the world.

That being said, the spice was fantastic. I loved it. It's the whole reason I kept reading. It's a vampire romance, so there is obviously a lot of blood and sharp objects involved, but there is also a pretty heavy breed kink element to this book. So, if that is a hard pass for you, then this probably isn't the book for you.

This book was like a big, embarrassing, fanfiction of every piece of vampire media that's ever been popular in mainstream culture. It was a spicy novel Frankenstein-ed to death with plot devices from other vampire books and movies. I can't say that I did not enjoy it in, it was certainly spicy and that is definitely one thing that I can say that this author writes well. The rest of it... the characters and plot specifically? Lazy. Everything that happened aside form the spice was conveniently wedged in to justify every fantastical thought the author dreamed up. I understand that it's a fantasy and there is a measure of suspended disbelief required but if an author is going to set a book like this in the real world, they should attempt to make it at least a little bit realistic. The main character was nothing special, typical erotica protagonist archetype. Questionable parentage, daughters of a prominent figure, unidentified powers, ends up being more important than everyone thought, etc. Also everything that went wrong she blamed on herself and that felt gross to me. Overall, it was.... fun and the writing was baseline fine. Nothing special and not life changing.
