this is the short book written by the daughter of Gisele Pelicot. It's her account of what happened following her father's initial arrest for upskirting back in 2020, and the process of the following horrors the police discovered. definitely very heavy to read, but for good reason. Gisele, Caroline, and the rest of their family are some of the strongest women I've ever heard of. and Dominique Pelicot, along with all his accomplices and cohabitators of rape forums, is one of the most vile men I have ever heard of. This is a really important read aiming to spread awareness of chemical submission, and I hope that, thanks to Madame Pelicot's bravery, women around the world will be released from this abuse.

Caroline and Gisele have been so incredibly brave in standing strong and refusing to hide in shame for the atrocious acts of a deplorable person. The least we can do is be brave enough to listen and not look away in discomfort.
(I listened to the audio version on Libby, the narration is really well done)

Although I had followed the trial in the news I still learnt a lot more details from Caroline's telling, especially about the family's past and how they reacted in varying and sometimes difficult ways to Dominique's depraved crimes.
Caroline's bravery and tenacity in fighting for dignity for survivors of chemical submission is incredible.

In addition to the descriptions in the book, I would have liked to read more about the actual trial and learn about the highs and lows this strong family experienced during that time.
A remarkable story that stays with you for a long time and should be read by anyone who is in the right mindset to confront such cruelty.
