I'm amazed by all that Ms. Tina has accomplished. I had no idea about what she made possible for people in her community and all that she did for her daughters. This also provided a look into a childhood really different from mine, and I'm grateful that her story is in print.

This is a 10 star read without a doubt. Ms Tina nailed all my favorite elements of a memoir: a sense of time and place with using senses, historical context, illustrations of joy/laughter, vulnerable expressions, reflective storytelling etc. I listened to the audiobook and it was incredible. Tina’s energy was felt in every moment. There’s book inspired me to make lemonade outta lemons, I truly am in awe. There’s so much I could say about this book, I can’t wait to own the physical copy. Thank you Ms. Tina.

This was a beautiful & inspiring book that made me think about all of the matriarchs in my family. It gets me excited knowing that one day I will carry on the legacy of fierce, powerful, soft, wild women in my lineage. I loved learning more about Mama Tina & how she raised literal legends.
