Este libro fue como un abrazo al corazón

Super fluffy bi-awakening bffs story with an accidental marriage. It was short but it still delivered a sweet story. If it would've been a long one we would've definitely had angst and longing and pining for the straight bff but luckily it was a novella so we get to the happily ever after much faster.
The audiobook was great!

Beautiful romantic story between two childhood best friends turned into lovers.
Caden and Alex have been in each other's life since they were just kids. At 16 Alex came out as gay and admitted to himself that was in love with his friend, but Caden has always been straight and into women.
Growing up, Alex dreamed of a man at his side, a marriage and a family, while Caden, heavily scarred by his parents' bad exemple, never committed to any women: the only constant in his life was his friend.

After Alex and his fiancé's wedding was canceled and finally Caden has the chance to have his friend all for himself, things starts to change and he starts wondering if his deep connection and affection for Alex mean something more.

Sexual awakening is one of the trope that this author handles better and this story is no exception: Alex and Caden's friendship evolves into a wonderful love story.
A thing I particularly adored was that they never lose their banter and that they still were each other's best friend.
My only complain is, obviously, the lenght.

Edit
I just finished to listen to the audiobook: Nick J. Russo was amazing, he made this story even more beautiful!

Short and sweet. Everything was resolved very neatly and it felt a bit Hallmarky. Still, I loved the pining and it was a fun read.

Cute and short read.

One of the dozen or so free books I got. Nothing wrong with the book, just a lot of things that didn't really work for me. See, I love friends to lovers (if done well, likely my favorite romance trope) but having one be in love with the other for over twelve years and including a drunken confession and the 'straight' one being repressed to such a degree that he was in love too, but couldn't admit it. ... Not the things I like in my friends to lovers. Add to that the whole drunken married in Vegas and go on the honeymoon together and it's a little too cloyingly sweet for me.

It does, however, have some awesome banter throughout - and, thankfully enough, even after the get together, the banter doesn't change.
