I have read The Hiding Place several times, but had never read anything else that Ten Boom wrote. I think I love this one more than The Hiding Place. (Of course, you wouldn't really get it without having read The Hiding Place.) IMHO there is no one more humble and a greater example of servanthood than Corrie Ten Boom. I used this book as a daily devotional for about a year. Each chapter is a story from her life after the time in the camps. So encouraging and inspiring!

In the late 1970s and 1980s many people were familiar with her story. This book shares more insights on her deep devotion and faith in Jesus. She also is very honest about struggles she had to forgive and times her faith was weak.
For any female Christian this book should be extra inspiring on how she was able to preach the gospel to so many men & women all over the world and was welcomed by many denominations & churches, something that probabky would not have happened today.

This was actually a bit disappointing after reading The Hiding Place. The best stories in this book were repeated from that one. There were some accounts I liked, but overall I think I would have gotten more out of reading The Hiding Place again than reading this one.

While I have loved Corrie for quite some time, and was deeply impacted by The Hiding Place in middle school, I found this book rather difficult to get through. It seemed repetitive, so perhaps if it had been shorted by a few chapters...? It was interesting to hear about the rest of Corrieās life, and the ways that the Lord used her suffering to minister to others for so many years after the concentration camps.

I love Corrie's style of humor, her blunt boldness and her love for the Lord. She inspires me but is super relatable too.
