I like the Renée Ballard books. Brings something fresh to the Bosch-iverse. I did immediately know who the killer was, but that’s more from a place of personally detesting the profession the killer is engaged with than any flaw in the book.

I’m too old, and don’t live near the ocean, but it made me want to learn to surf.

A very good read from an incredible author. Keeps you hooked to the very end. Didn't want to put it down.

A fun one. Glad Maddie is in the mix.

This is a solid Renee Ballard novel. I really enjoyed the Black Dahlia angle and appreciated Maddie Bosch’s involvement. The character Colleen got on my nerves throughout, so I felt a little guilty for cringing every time she appeared—especially by the end. All in all, it’s a great story.
