This is a solid Renee Ballard novel. I really enjoyed the Black Dahlia angle and appreciated Maddie Bosch’s involvement. The character Colleen got on my nerves throughout, so I felt a little guilty for cringing every time she appeared—especially by the end. All in all, it’s a great story.

The name of this book matches what I'm doing and why I read it. I'm waiting for books I really want to read to come off hold from the library. In the meantime, I choose things like this. I do like Bosch stories. I like the TV series and it was a treat to hear Titus Welliver voice Bosch.

What a great addition to the Harry Bosch Universe. Lots of twists and turns as Maddie Bosch joins Renee Ballard's cold case squad.
