So good, every single book that I have read by Mary has been amazing. But Ra
punzel’s Gambit is one of the ones that I absolutely love. So far that makes this one of my top favorites. Loved Pollox, such a lovable but yet slightly shrewd character. Rapunzel was also a good character as well, at first you think she is a villain, but turns out she has a big heart of gold.
I received a complimentary ARC from the author for a fair and honest review

I loved this story!! It was fun and fresh. I could say so many things but I feel like it would all be spoilers. The plot twist in this book was really giving Frozen. Overall, a quick, fun read that will keep you on your toes!
This is a Rapunzel retelling like I have never read before, and I LOVED it.
This story gripped me right away as we quickly learn the people of the kingdom have been paying high taxes and many are hungry, because of this they are very unhappy with their King and his daughter Princess Rapunzel. Her father has a plan though, blame it all on the dragon and off up his daughter as a prize to any man who can slay the dragon.
Rapunzel is the definition of a Damsel who Distresses others. This princess doesn’t want to marry any man,
Our FMC is known for her plotting and schemes. All that practice helps her when she derives a plan to “Kidnap” herself, and this is where the fun truly starts as she makes her way to that terrifying dragon to strike a deal.
Pollux the dragon takes our Princess away to a tower where she awaits to be rescued, of course this is all a part of their con to take riches from the wealthy families who will pay good coin to get their princes and knights back. With each passing day
Griffin is just a humble squire, but he’s brilliant. He can also best our princess in chess, when others can’t. This obviously catches our Princesses’ eye.
There were so many twists and turns in this book I absolutely loved them. This book left me emotionally wrecked in all the right ways and gave me a wonderful book hangover. (Which basically means even after the book ended, I thought about and dreamed about this book)
If you like witty banter, fairytale retellings, A Dragons, A Princess, and a gripping story. Then you must read this book.
Big thank you to Mary for letting me be one of your proofreaders.

A princess and a dragon walk into a cave, make a deal, and cause some chaos. What more could you ask for from a book?
A unique Rapunzel fairytale retelling? Check, it’s got that. Chess references? Check (pun very much intended!) A feisty, sarcastic, and intelligent FMC? Umm, yes, it has it! Some clean and wholesome romantic tension? It’s definitely there! Ohh, a snarky talking dragon? Check, check, it's burning hot with that one!
This book was such a fun and quick read. I’m a huge fan of fairytale retellings, so whenever I come across a more unique version, I end up loving it! While Rapunzel is my girl (also one of my favorite Princesses) and is amazing…my favorite character is the dragon, Pollox. He’s fierce yet protective and surprisingly complex for a dragon. Rapunzel’s Gambit is 1 of 12 books in the “All That Glitters” author collaboration, which is readable in any order or as stand alones, which is such an fantastic concept. My heart was definitely glittering after this read!
Now, if I were to continue this review, I’d be making my own gambit, and I think it’s better if I leave that up to Rapunzel so I won’t dragon anymore (I know you appreciate the pun)!
