DNF. I listened to the 1 and 2 in the Serpent and Do e series but DNF the 3rd one. Sadly I didn’t enjoy this one and couldn’t finish. I didn’t like the main character or plot line. When I give reviews like this or say DNF it doesn’t mean the author isn’t good, it just means I didn’t enjoy it. If you liked her other series then give this one a go.

Shelby did a really great job of expanding on this world and showing us all a whole new side to Ceile. 

I loved watching as she gained more and more confidence and went on her emotional journey. Her journey is the whole reason this book worked so well. 

I felt like Michaels quick turn around from hating her to loving her felt a little rushed and I wish we got to see more of his reasoning. 

I called the villain from about halfway through which is fine as the way all her friends reacted were harder to predict. I am excited to read the second.

I enjoyed reading this book very much as I can say about the other books of this autor. ✨❤️ The ending has me waiting for the next one to read

This update includes spoilers for those who haven't read Serpent & Dove trilogy.

I know I'm not the biggest fan of S&D trilogy, but hearing that the author is writing a new duology set in the same universe as previous works and that it is going to be about Célie had me over the moon! I found her character interesting from the very first book and always saw a main character potential in her and wanted her to have her own story. Now that is finally happening!!!!
