i loved the idea behind the celebrants and their funeral pact! the combination of comedy and heart made the celebrants a true human read. this book also really makes you ponder about never leaving any unsaid between loved ones

I enjoyed this… and probably would’ve given it 4 stars if the author didn’t give two of the characters the same name. I get that it’s a real life thing but I kept mixing up their stories. The fact that they were a couple did not help.

Took me about 60-70 pages to really connect, but the last half of the book was incredibly satisfying.

ugh, Steven Rowley back at it again!! What a cutie and wholesome read, encompassing friendships and the idea of celebrating each other while still alive, rather than the standard idea of a funeral. Rowley manages to take heavy subjects and write them with a lightness, feathering in raw emotion with the perfect sprinkle of humor, revelations, and all around realness. I’m looking forward to what he writes next!
