The characters felt like random strangers pretending to be best friends? An interesting idea, but I never felt invested.

DNF - Stopped at 55%; did not care to learn a single additional thing about these characters
Probably could have used a little more editing to improve the pace, but overall, I liked the story and the characters (though Naomi could have used a little more work to demonstrate why she fits in with the group; her funeral was… interesting).
I really loved following this quirky group of friends throughout their lives as they support each other via a pact they made at the end of their college years to "leave nothing unsaid" by having living funerals for each of them. At times of difficulty, each one calls for their "funeral" and the group reunites to celebrate that person, no matter where they are. The portrayal of the friends is delightful and reminds me of people I have known. Highly recommend for a sweet summer read.
I love this author! While this one was not as laugh out loud funny as some of his others, it was a great story of lifelong friendships and confronting one’s own mortality.
