What happens in Vegas may just be magic. With all the craziness in Vegas, we should have guessed there was a college that taught witchcraft there. And Fairies should own a casino or two. The mythology was familiar and yet still interesting. I liked the characters of Marion and Aidan. He was funny and a little cocky, and endearing. Marion was a hot mess, self conscious, shy, and yet determined to persevere. The support characters were quirky and so entertaining.

With all the magic and fae elements it could have been something great; instead I'm left with a feeling of meh. Very little character work done besides superficial easy to use labels.

Marion is a tad gun shy when it comes to men and relationships. Her ex is a world class abusive, PITA but a powerful mage. She is now in hiding in the magical hub of Vegas, all whilst trying to learn some magic to defend herself against him in the future. But if she can't get a simple love potion to do anything but explode she'll never learn the magic she needs.

Aidan, a royal guard of the Fairy Queen has been banished to earth for...well being anything but tactful. He just seems to open his mouth and he sticks his big foot in it!!! He has to "please a woman less than perfect". When he finds Marion, she may be just the woman he needs, the fact that he can pull a fast one on the Queen only adds to her appeal.

Fast paced adventure with abusive, ruthless ex boyfriends, possessive fairy Queen and a sweet wannabe witch just trying to live her life. There are a few great OMG moments and twists and turns along the way. Great start to a new series!!!!

Enjoyed this book

Aidan goers to Vegas to break a curse never expecting to run into a woman with problems of her own. This was a quick read with you rooting for the main characters. It is a stand alone book but good enough that I would read more in this series.
