funny lighthearted tense medium-paced

Sean has taken a new liking to a book he's had for a while, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear. We had to read it quite a few times last night. Fortunately it's rather short. I think he likes the threat of the bear and the deep booming voice Ian uses when the narrator is describing the bear.

A very fun book!

What can I say? It's one of my very first childhood books and therefore, a special favorite along with Martha B Rabbit.

One of my top five favorite children's books.

A very cute story about a mouse and a giant strawberry, with the clever vehicle of reader involvement through a knowing voice. All's well that ends with a full belly and a swing in a hammock.

A favorite by one of my favorite children's picture book authors. It is just scary enough to be fun and not really scary.

I love everything about this book! The balance between the pictures and the text is fantastic.
