A good read. I appreciate that this author can tackle complicated plots with a light touch; this could've been overly dramatic and heavy but it didn't go there.
I actually did not finish this book. I got about 3/4 of the way thinking it has to get better but I am done. I could not like or even dislike any of the characters. The story seems to go on forever.
3.5 stars. Although this isn't my favorite Liane Moriarty book, I still enjoyed the story and her characters. This is about a hypnotherapist who falls for a man who is being stalked by his ex-girlfriend. At first it seems exciting, but then gets a little too close to home (literally). Recommended for Liane Moriarty fans.
I generally like Moriarty’s books but this one wasn’t my favorite. For one it was way too long. The same story could have been told in half the amount of pages and it would have been better. And I didn’t think the story was all that exciting. I was waiting for a big reveal or a chase or a murder but I never got one.
Mixed feelings, but mostly disappointed. Happy ending, which I like, but contrived and forced, which I don't like. Can't decide if I am a Moriarty fan or not. So far, I don't think she does ethical dilemmas nearly as skillfully as Jodi Picoult (and I had to take a break from her breathless thrill rides of angst).
Ellen O'Farrell is an expert when it comes to human frailties. She's a hypnotherapist who helps her clients deal with everything from addictions to life-long phobias. So when she falls in love with a man who is being stalked by his ex-girlfriend she's more intrigued than frightened. What makes a supposedly smart, professional woman behave this way? She'd love to meet her.
A very enjoyable, easy read. I loved Ellen's character, she's so 'normal' with very human doubts and frailties. She spends a lot of time whether pondering whether she really loves Patrick or whether she's still in love with a former boyfriend. I also liked Saskia, Patrick's stalker. Although what she was doing was crazy at times somehow it was understandable because of the abrupt way Patrick ended their relationship.
The relationships were well explored and there was a lot of joy and humour in the book as well as the angst.

It was a cute and funny light read. Although I suppose it could be triggering for someone who’s ever been stalked or in an abusive relationship before.
