This second book in the Drake Security series is full of action, adventure, romance and of course the super natural. Hemingway and Dempsey are both adorably nerdy and so very sweet. Their trial lead them on adventures both interesting and dangerous. I loved their dynamic.
Nerds!
Hem & Dempsey are so cute. I loved that they had the same interests. They were able to bond quickly over their shared passions.

This book is off to a terrible start 😬. Might revisit other books in the series later, but they really all sound like they’re going to be hardcore insta-lust/love. I don’t really have words for how wtf Hemingway acts, from almost page one. So far, the whole book reminded me of another book I’ve already read but with a bodyguard dragon instead of an Angel. This book just seems even more formulaic than the first, like I’ve read 44 pages and there is absolutely nothing interesting about it. At least Lake from B1 was semi-funny, this whole book has just come off as desperation and cringe. Sorry, not sorry .
Dempsey and Hemingway - swoony suspenseful perfection
I loved loved loved Dempsey and Hemingway’s book nerd, dragon shifter, fated mates romance with a side of ancient curses. This is another cannot put it down enthralling book in this fun, sexy, romantic suspense series. The author did a phenomenal job balancing the romance with the suspense and slowly ratcheting up the level of danger until I was all in urging Hemingway to hurry up and save Dempsey before the bad thing killed him. Phew. This well written story was delicious perfection and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. Hemingway is a dragon shifter who owns a security company with his brothers. He’s also a book nerd and his hoard reflects that. Dempsey owns an antique shop that has been broken into and he hires Drake Security to keep him safe. He is also an adorkable book nerd. There is instant attraction between the two but they ignore it because Dempsey does not think he is worthy and Hemingway worries his dragon is just coveting having a mate since his brother just found his. While Dempsey and Hemingway work their way to their HEA, strengthen their mate bond, and thwart the evil trying to harm Dempsey, you will feel the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, gasping, and cheering. The book was filled with sweet moments, steamy scenes, real life issues, imperfect characters, painful pasts, dangerous situations, evil actors, magic, chuckles, messy families, and all the swoony love. This is a standalone but do yourself a favor, read all the books because they are all good. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series with one of the brothers we have met.

Good Story
Good addition to the series, interesting story and villain. Liked Hem and Demps a lot, they were very sweet. The ‘formula’ for the book felt slightly cookie cutter from the last though, I hope this gets switched up in the next book. Excited for the rest of the dragon bros mates!

This was a really fun and smexy follow up to Hot Head. Dempsey and Hemingway are absolutely perfect together! Land and Nico are a couple who may not make a lot of sense on the outside looking in but when it truly comes down to it, they are completely made for each other. Dempsey and Hemingway are the opposite - they share a lot of the same interests and have some fun quoting random lines to each other and the other guesses from what classic book they are from which is really cute. Dempsey is a trip. I absolutely fell in love with him amd Hemingway is quite the romantic. The threat which caused Dempsey to hire a bodyguard in the first place was an interesting story too and I liked how it was resolved. I can’t wait to see how Arson’s story play out. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
