Throne of Glass is, and will forever be, Sarah J. Maas's best series. This was complete with so much joy, character development, genuine loss, belief that the odds will remain stacked against them, everything. There were multiple parts where I started to tear up like the last scene with the Thirteen, but ESPECIALLY
finding out that Erawan took the King of Ardalan's name, and finding out that he remembered it only once, and it was when he held Dorian for the first time. TEARS. I love that SJM had the King make a reappearance, and Dorian finally got some sort of closure with him. It was really sincere to see him as the father he might have been.

I also love that Aelin got to be happy in the end, I think that's all she deserved after everything. SJM excels at writing emotional arcs, and I really enjoy how she didn't shy away from Aelin's deep, deep depression after her torture with Maeve. It tied in so well and harkened back to Heir of Fire in the best way possible.

ANYWAYS, I could talk about this baby for ages, just please read it. I'm so sad it's over. But also
Rhysand cameo???? I knew about the multiverse theory but like,,, it feels REAL and I'm shook

I loved 90% of this book. It took me a really long time to warm up to this series and I really loved it, until the final climax of this book.
The ending was a big fucking disappointment and I don't think I will ever be over my anger and frustration. Not only do we have our female character loses all her powers, but we also have someone else defeat the Big Bad of the series. We've spent 8 books building up to Aelin saving everyone, and then she loses her powers and its a minor character that defeats the Big Bad? It's like if at the end of Harry Potter, he lost his magic, and Justin Finch-Fletchly ended up killing Voldemort. No real pay of, no feeling of triumph for all she's done and been through? Incredibly disappointing and it has tainted my feelings towards the entire series. I finally felt like there would be a good pay off for it's shitty beginning but no, it was a big fucking let down.
I am very disappointed. It is so hard to give this book a star rating because of the 10% that not only was subpar, but actively ruined the rest of it for me. It is only getting this star rating because the 90% was good. If it was down to the 10% then it would be getting 0 stars.

Whew. I got a little worried toward the end and wasn't sure if I could finish. There were so many plot points to keep up with and I felt like every couple of pages was some sort of mind-boggling plot twist, martyrdom, or marathon between characters racing to the finish before their clock stopped. Ultimately I liked it but I'm glad it's over.

Wow, just wow. I'm giving this one 5 stars for the overall journey of the world of TOG. Reading all of these works and seeing SJM grow as an author has been super fun. You could feel the love that she has for these characters coming off right the page. What a wonderful end to an epic story.

This book is truly an emotional journey.

I think there are parts that could’ve been shorter and still had the same impact (the steps leading up to finding Aelin or the fight at Orynth when they were going to die at every turn).

Granted with all the surprises, it had to be somewhat spread out.

There were so many heartbreaking events in this book and I think a lot of amazing scenes that showed character growth and healing.

I love that Yrene was able to take down Erawen - it was a joint battle with everyone not all on Aelin.

Dorian finding out that Dorian was literally his father’s name plus his father getting to atone is amazing.

Also fuck the gods, literally they suck ass. I’m glad Aelin didn’t lose all her powers completely.

Seeing everyone rallying together and the hope for a better future was really fun to read, I also enjoyed after the battle with Aelin getting to thank everyone.

I think this book  was good at pulling you into the scenes and making you realize just how lucky they were with timings or making you feel despair over the situation at Orynth. Whatever SJM wanted me to feel, that’s what I was feeling.
