This was fun!!
The book talks about a 500 yours old Vampire who takes no shit anymore from the vampire court. She is a badass and sassy MC who only cares ( or acts like ) about her shoes and fashion. She is very funny ( kinda reminds me of Aeilin from throne of glass), brave and confident. Who finds herself in the middle of a surnatural rebellion against humains.
And obviously She falls in love with a vampire slayer which goes agaisnt all the supernatural rules.
The writing is great, funny, and the plot is interesting.
Kinda sad that this book is not well known in booktok.
Highly recommend it if you are a fan of enemies to lovers with morally gray character ( who is the female in this book)
Wont regret it .

Give me back my time! I have absolutely no idea how I managed to finish this book. I haven't dumped it in the do-not-bother folder because by some miraculous witchery it still made me read it until the end. I am utterly amazed!

I hated the main character, her love interests (yes, both of them), the vampire politics and the super duper mystery plot that was so easy to read even a child could see it coming from a mile away.

Above all else, I hated how Isla thought she was so superior to everyone around her and managed to continuously choose to do the most idiotic things time and again. Her spouting of philosophical nonsense in a sanctimonious preaching tone grated me to no end.

To a lesser degree, I also hated the instant love with both love interests and the fact that poor gentle Scott was ridiculed so much, and how he ended with one eye. That was a particularly low blow.

I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. There are much better options with sassy heroines. If you want a badass snarky chaotic anti-heroe, try Born in Fire written by K. F. Breene. Reagan is all that Isla tried and failed to be.

And with that, I say so long to this series. I will get myself out, thank you very much.

I wanted to like Isla more than I did. I like a strong, snarky, marshmallow on the inside vampire but for a 500 year old vampire it just seemed a bit ridiculous. Her character took the attitude too far and she just became annoying.

Did not expect this book to be as good as it is. The plot is pretty interesting, the main character is a baddie, and the banter is brilliant. IM SHOOK.

I started this book thinking this was a different author, and I was like damn this has low steam and where is the anti-hero?

So there was no anti-hero, but the hero was just as sexy. He doesn't always have to be mean, he just has possessive and dominate. Thankfully Thorne was all of the above and more.

I was worried that this was going to be a love triangle, and thankfully it wasn't. In saying that I wanted to witness rick's punishment. Just saying.

Isla is a great heroine. She's witty, hardcore, with and a big heart she hides to survive. I think I love her more than Thorne.

She was pretty awesome.

I would have rated it 5 stars, but I insta love isn't my thing, and the heat was low, my 4 star read maybe your 5.

It's been awhile since a book has just grabbed me. I found myself literally holding my breath at some points. I can't wait for the next book!
