I'm really enjoying this series.

It's got a great amount of humour, likeable characters and just overall a good story.

Stephanie's character has grown on me - I'm now loving her. I'm also finding that I can relate to how her character acts in most situations.

The sexual tension between Stephanie and Morelli is almost too much - I WANT MORE!

And Lula, man, she's hilarious.

AND RANGER! Superhero!

I highly recommend this series!

Onto book #4!

This Stephanie adventure follows Stephanie and her retired hooker friend while they look for a bail jumper who is also a local celebrity of sorts. Uncle Moe is the owner of a candy store in the Berg and no one can imagine why he would do something bad. So why did he jump bail. A fast, fun story with a huge ending just as one will come to expect from Janet Evanovich!

I absolutely love this series. All the scenes between Morelli and Stephanie are so freakin' hilarious! I also liked getting to see Lula helping out Stephanie as a "bounty hunter in training" sort-of. I can't wait to read more of this crazy series.

These books are what my mom would call "mind candy". Quick, easy, and fun. Nothing to make you think too hard, but enjoyable nontheless as long as you're not expecting too much from it.

Despite my lackluster feelings for the last book in the Stephanie Plum series, I already had this book checked out from the library, so I decided to read it. And, honestly, they’re not awful, just not particularly good.

This Stephanie Plum book focuses on a missing uncle and a pile of dead bodies that just keeps growing as Stephanie continues her investigation. In all of Stephanie’s books so far, she seems to have sidekicks. In her first book, it was Joe. In her second, Grandma Mazur. In this, it was Lulu. It’s interesting, in a way, like twisting the old adage and turning it into “It takes a village to solve a mystery.”

What I didn’t like about this book was that they’re still drawing out the whole situation between Stephanie and Joe. There are a whole lot of sparks but no bang. Once again, Stephanie solves the mystery pretty early on, barring the particulars, and that kind of ruins the fun of trying to guess the ending. Plus, Stephanie’s getting a bit… weird. There’s a point in the book where Stephanie sits down to eat breakfast and puts in a Winnie the Pooh VHS. I mean, what 20-something bounty hunter owns something like that? She doesn’t have children. She states very clearly in this book that she wouldn’t want children. Yet there she is, eating breakfast alone with Winnie. It was just an awkward thing to throw in, and it made a character, who Evanovich really tries to make relate-able (not affluent, not too pretty, has daily battles with her hair to keep it in place, loves junk food), less so.

This book lacks real mystery, character development, and even Evanovich’s one attempt at a sex scene was pretty lame. Altogether, it’s a fluff read with some humorous one-liners (One of my favorites? “Holy Mary, Mother of God… Please don’t let me die on Route 1 with my hair looking like this.”). As the series continues, the mysteries seem to get lamer while the books tend to get more funny. I’m not going to completely rule out reading another, not because I particularly enjoy them, but because they’re easy and can be finished in a few hours and help me get ahead on my 2012 Reading Challenge on Goodreads.

Great mind candy and great characters! Hilarious! Great summer reading.

Another great day in the life of Stephanie Plum and get Jersey streets. More great quips and steamy scenes.
