I do really, really, really like this book.
Characters are charming in their own twisted way, the found family, the trauma, and the healing (his and hers as well) are good.
The thing is: we have a motorcycle Psychopath and a killer, and his obsession with a sunshine girl. But this little sunshine has a dark side…She can be stereotypical as sweet, fluffy pink and a church girl, but inside, she embraces her darkness and finds the beauty in the darkness of others, but specially of our enforcer (plus, she studies criminal psychology and has a podcast where she talks about serial killers). So technically, they are the obsession of each other.
Ok, great, but could happen when both of them cross the line of observing from the distance to take action? This book tells us what happen with some…. spice in it.
Ok, fine, maybe that doesn’t sound interesting to you, but let me add another point to the plot: What do you think could happen if there is not one, but two psychopaths are behind her? This second psychopath develops into a serial killer going after our little sunshine.
Now, this was such a ride for me… I’m not used to like readings in which harm is a key for the erotic scenes to develop (I don’t conceive personally into my relationships these practices so it’s foreign this type of topics to me). But in this one, I didn’t feel uncomfortable, I still don’t like it but I was so captivated for the subplot of finding the other psychopath that could harm Bea (our protagonist and little sunshine) that I devour this book in two days within my free time.
So, solid 5 stars to this one, good characters, the found family is always a welcoming surprised to me, the development of the plot, the chemistry, the dual POV, all of that was good.

Priest and Bea’s story was a slow one, making it all the more rewarding. I loved seeing their romance unfold, all the while learning more about Priest and his past. And, because this Giana Darling, there is plenty of spice along the way (hopefully you like your spice a little stabby)
The serial killer subplot made for an interesting backdrop, though not as “twisty” as stories like this usually are (if you’re a thriller fan, this probably isn’t the book for you). This book was more character driven than plot driven. I find sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn’t. Thankfully it worked in this case and I really enjoyed spending more time with all of these characters
I’ve flown through these books and I can’t believe there’s only one left that’s currently published

The characters are so strategically described and created it falls in line with the concept of Bea’s Psychology studies perfectly making the book seem so much more ironic, tense and funny at the same time.
Many of the smut books I’ve read in the past have been very well written in terms of descriptions but lack story line therefore making them boring and repetitive towards the end.
Deadman walking has the perfect balance of eroticism and story line. I found myself reading this book for 7 hours at a time as I was so eager to know what happens next rather than reading on to find the next interesting sexual part. The story line never died!!
The book is very aggressive when it comes to the sexual parts and some people may not be as into that as others as there is knife play and mentions of blood… a lot of it. So all I can say is be prepared when going into this book.
I made the mistake of not researching ‘The Fallen Men’ series until half way through the book.
Although Deadman walking is a stand alone in the series I would 100% recommend reading book 1-5 first as DWM is the 6th book in the series. The main character focus of the 7 books aren't the same people however the people do continue to appear throughout each book and it simply helps you to have a wider understanding of the family as it is a large family.
That could possibly be my only complaint - the sheer amount of characters involved in the book made it difficult to keep up with who was who and who was related to who but I think that’s my own mistake for not researching the series.
I’m so intrigued by this family I will definitely be buying book 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 and I will definitely reread this when I get to it in the series.
Well done Giana Darling, you’ve blown me away.
If you've made it to the end of this review, do send me a friend request as I love connecting with people who are just as mentally messed as me.
