This is a good slow burn romance.
With a little bit of tension regarding Josh’s job (doctor in Somalia…).
It is an enemies to lovers between a pop star and a doc.

Also I was expecting to laugh as much as I did with the first book of the serie (A deal with the devil) which I highly recommend.

At the start of this book I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it as much as The Deal With The Devil but this book really ended up delivering! The second half of the book gets some action (and the characters do too). What starts off as enemies/grumpy-sunshine vibes pretty quickly evolves into a friendship with feelings. Thank god this book was dual POV- I needed to know Josh’s thoughts. Obsessed with how deeply he cares for and wants to protect Drew. He’s so ernest as the book progresses which is sweet and hot. This book honestly had me tearing up at points. Elizabeth O’Roark is so good at writing books that are emotional, dramatic, with a little spice to boot. I for sure would recommend this book. I’m excited to read Ben’s story next!

THIS WAS SO GOOD. Spent every second of yesterday and today thinking "when can I get back to reading??".

Josh and Drew absolutely have my heart and O'Roark just does enemies-to-lovers so perfectly. Josh still being worried about Drew even though he's supposed to hate her? Chef's kiss.

The ending was surprisingly dramatic/tense compared to the first half/two-thirds but imo it still worked.

Definitely one of my favourite reads this year! 🥳

I had reservations going into this book. I had a feeling I would love it because of how I felt about the first book, but I also am not big on someone falling for their ex's sibling. I was a tiny bit surprised by how much I loved this book despite that trope. (It probably helped that I already didn't like Six going into it.) Drew and Josh were utter perfection together. I loved how they bonded on the Bailey family trip through the islands -- even when they shouldn't have been. They had a true connection once they got over hating each other and making all their snarky comments. I loved them together. Their bonus epilogue novella was also well worth the read. It made me love them even more! The only thing I didn't love about this book were some jokes/comments made in poor taste about Hawaiians, Somalians, and children. I was disappointed by them, and it wasn't like they added anything to the story. I would still say this book is well worth reading for the wonderful romance.
