My only note would be the white savior-ism in it wasn’t my favorite. Just because I think it is a hard topic for a white author to do with sensitivity. Although I don’t believe there was any ill intent as Josh was meant to be a selfless character but that is often the crux of white the white savior complex. Similarly there was comment about the conditions/medicine on Hawaii made by the mother which is mostly condemned by the fmc and mmc.
Moderate: Alcoholism
Minor: War, Suicide, and Violence

I was on Instagram under the KUromance tag because the KU recommendations I get on Amazon are not my jam. I saw a post with this book in it and saw ex's brother and vacation and I one-clicked this baby so fast. It's a book that I read in less than twenty-fours because I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down.
I also loved that it didn't quite follow the typical romance formula. Being an author, you know the not-so-secret recipe on how to write these books so when I stumble across a book that kind of throws that recipe in the garbage, it feels so fucking refreshing.
This book featured two MCs who had familial problems and who were trying to hide or run from the person they were afraid people perceived them to be. Their growth both with each other and on their own was magnificent to see unfold. From the first page until the last, they pulled at my heart strings.
This book, for as much as I enjoyed it, definitely was not without its problems. At times, it was really privileged (in financial means) and I found it to be ableist. Content warning for aforementioned: (He's a doctor in a country that is more a war zone than anything and to try to kill his erection, he thought of amputees. And there are definitely tasteles jokes made on how Americans live (with excessiveness) compared to other countries who live in extreme states of poverty.)
