Although this pretty much just felt like listening to a really really REALLY long episode of My Favorite Murder, I still loved it. Georgia was incredibly vulnerable and funny and Karen's openness about her past and how she talked about her mom will stay with me. Great job all around. A must-read even if you don't listen to the podcast, but you'll probably start after finishing.
MFM is my favorite podcast--I know some people have their issues with Karen and Georgia, but I (like so many other fans) really do feel like they're two of my best friends when I listen to an episode. Yes I love true crime but it's become a lot more than that--they talk about current events, new books/movies/shows they're into, life events, and mental health, all with the combination of genuine interest, openness, enthusiasm, support, sarcasm, and stupid-funny inside jokes/one-liners that make up so many of my favorite conversations with my favorite people. It gets super serious, and super silly, and everything in between. I just really enjoy them, and their friendship (I feel a particular kinship for Karen).
This book was everything I hoped it be--funny and well-written, personal and wide-ranging. Some of Karen's writing/topics brought me to tears. This is one I'll go back to more than once. <3

This was adorable, just like the podcast. Which seems weird to say about a murdery book, but oh well. Listen to a few episodes of MFM before you pick this up to get the most out of it. Highly recommend the audio book. It's like 6 hours straight of the show:-)
I really enjoyed this one! It was a quick read and made me want to listen to more of their older episodes of MFM. I did get them (Karen & Georgia) confused a lot and had to keep checking who I was reading about. But it has some funny stories, lots of real life pain and struggles, and a fair amount of true crime. When I first got this book from the library, I had assumed it was going to be murder stories like the podcast, had no idea it was more about that hosts’ personal life! Ha! But I’m glad I got to “know” them more.
Book 42 was “Stay Sexy Don’t Get Murdered” by the lovely podcasters of My Favorite Murder Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. I really enjoyed this book, which was full of little bits of wisdom and stories from their lives.
My favorite quote was (I would say pardon the language, but that defeats the message of this quote—so deal with it!

This was such a fun book to read!! I recently found the podcast that these ladies put on and it’s so fun to have that on paper form too! I feel like I really know these ladies and it makes the podcast even more fun to listen to because I know more about them and how they became who they are! Freakin amazing
I’ve never listened to My Favorite Murder, but luckily that wasn’t a prerequisite for this book. Georgia and Karen come off as the cool, experienced older sisters I always wanted, and I genuinely enjoyed reading their stories. It was a good blend of memoir and life advice; there were moments where it got a little self-indulgent, but it was funny and snappy enough that I didn’t much mind.

It took me longer to read than it should have because I wanted to cherish it. I read and then reread chapters. I’d listen to an episode and then read a chapter. I didnmt want to rush reading this (as I sometimes do with books). This wasn’t about escaping into books it was about relating to Karen and Georgia and thinking introspectively.
I am a huge fan of the My Favorite Murder podcast, so I knew that I would enjoy the book as well. I started out with the kindle version, and quickly decided that I *really* needed to switch to the audio book. I’m so glad I did! Karen and Georgia are their typical fun selves, only with slightly less ad-libbing. Of course, I will end this review in the ONLY appropriate way- Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered!
