What a fantastical world Sendak created for the wild one in all of us.
Probably waaaaay worse with a digital copy. Glad I found this while tidying up, my sister had all the best stuff growing up man
Pictures are super pretty, story is just ordinary though
"Where the Wild Things Are" a.k.a., An Introduction to Surreal and Psychedelic Literature.
ALSO: When Max cries "let the wild rumpus begin" and it is followed by three pairs of illustrated pages of that same wild rumpus, might I recommend narrating with an *oontz-oontz* house beat? H. loves it.

I didn’t grow up with this book, so I’m not exactly blown away by it. The illustrations are lovely, the story… leaves a little to be desired. It captures a kid’s imagination well, but in reality, the kid is a bit of a jerk.
Cute! Read it real quick in the book store since I had never read it as a child, at least not that I can remember. It's only like... fifteen pages, but it's really cute and I love the illustrations.
