Great artwork, but after seeing the movie, the story now seems very weak. True, you can only have so much character development in a kids book such as this, but it still seems disappointing in retrospect.
A book for children that really is about imagination and adventure. Not gendered, and with some touching and beautiful artwork. This book changed my life as a child and I still read it over and over.

I think this a wonderful book and has a magnificent story. Also, the illustrations are amazing. My only problem is, even as a young child, it was always a bit too short.
I feel (and always have felt) that the illustrations are a little creepy for the story.
I don't get it. I realize I'm not the target audience, but this book was super weird and did not charm me in the least. The kid is super annoying. Read for a Children's lit class, so I guess I'll have to write something mildly profound about this book. Blah.
