A good second chance read

This was a good quick read about Keeland and Sammie. Keeland had broken Sammie’s heart years ago but he was back in town ready to make up for that heart break. This has some angst, sexy scenes, and a hea.

Hmmm....

Samantha "Sammie" Trotten, the smitten lovesick girl who is in love with her neighbor who also happens to be her big brothers best friend. Sammie is the quiet reserved girl who keeps herself hidden because putting yourself out there means that people will see you. When she lets her guard down one time it proves to be the worse decision she makes for a long time.

Keeland Masters, the hot and off limits neighbor. Friends with his neighbor and constantly picking on the little sister of said best friend. Life has a nasty way of coming in at the wrong moments, when he is whisked away after making a promise with no contact for years everything seems to fall in place until it doesn't. Will Keeland be able to make it back into the good graces of the person he hurt all those years ago?

This one was a different pace and I loved it. After coming off an emotional read before I started this book I was surprised to find the lightness within the pages. Even though at times it got emotional it was overall a great good paced read. I can't wait to read more from this author and possibly more in this series from the characters. Looking forward to getting my hands on them!

it was good don’t get me wrong but idk he did her so dirty in the past and she forgave him pretty easily. Like I know it wasn’t his fault but he could have messaged her or something ya know? i hate the miscommunication trope so that’s probably why this one wasn’t my favorite.

Loved parts, could do without other parts. This best friend’s little sister / second chance romance was pretty smutty, which I liked. The back and forth on the emotional stuff gave me a bit of whiplash. I did like the ending and how the author wrapped up the HEA for the characters.

I actually kind of enjoyed this book. Short. Steamy. Low angst. 2nd chance (kinda).

Terrible. I usually love the male POV but I HATED Keeland’s. I also hated Sammie and her inner thoughts. Her reason for hating him was absolutely ridiculous and her just falling into his arms because he shows up at her house drenched from rain? Come on. The first sex scene is seriously cringeworthy and it’s another one of those books where an inexperienced girl is able to give him the best “job” he’s ever had. I think his exact words were “I believe her when she said she’s never done this before but she was made to suck my …” Sexy times

Received for an honest opinion.
Keeland is a great character, and I enjoyed Samantha but I felt the book moved a little slowly for me. It took forever to finally find out about Keeland's past and then bam! The book is over. I like the premise of the book, and I really like Keeland but I felt it could've been a bit more fleshed out.

The couple seemed to have passion, but I don't see how they fell in love. They had sex but no dates and real conversation. Samantha got mad at Keeland for hiding his past, but she spent the beginning of the book mad at him without telling him why. I liked it, but it was whatever. I could take it of leave it.

Unrelated Side Note: I find it funny his name's Keeland and a side character was named Blakely. It reminded me of Vi Keeland and Lauren Blakely.
