The Golden Lily takes you through an incredible world of danger, mystery, and magic; and it makes you fall in love with characters like Adrian, Eddie, and Sydney even more. Only in a story narrated by the intellectual Sydney would you end up reading about windmills and Shakespeare. Despite the fact that her Alchemist beliefs have been continually challenged, she still puts the well-being of others first. Eddie is such an intriguing character, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him; Adrian undergoes so much character development, coming a long way from what he was like in Vampire Academy. While the ending wasn't a cliffhanger, it was heartbreaking in its own awful way--I swear Mead excels at writing tortuous relationships -cough, Rose and Dimitri, cough- and

Loved this book. I know some people complained about the ending, but any other ending would not have been true to the characters. Besides, it's not really the end, right?
