Oh my god!
How amazing?! Richelle Mead is an awesome writer and I can't help but think how beautifully different Syndey and Rose are. They're both so strong but in different ways.
The continuation of the story from the first book was great. The content in this one was very interesting and they unraveled a lot of things that would never have crossed my mind from only reading the VA series.
I was actually laughing quite a bit throughout this book. Like, when Jill would compliment Sydney of random things with a dreamy expression I knew immedietly why she would be doing that. Of couse Adrian's feelings would affect her through the bond! Though my heart still aches for him after what happened in the end. I really hope they work something out cuz I totally ship them.
Talking about shipping disasters, I feel really bad for Jill finally developing feelings for Eddie when he gives up and goes for someone else. I like Angeline only to sertain limits, and that's really pushing it.
I'm also really curious as to who that man with the blue tattoo is, Marcus Finch, the one who supposedly helped Clarence escape the 'Warriors' in the past. Is he the guy on the cover of The Indigo Spell?
I'm seriously excited to read the next book and I thourougly enjoyed this one!

I read the book in one day!! I just couldn't stop... XD I really really really liked the book....

The sequel to one of my favorite series ever, The Golden Lily continues a story about Sydney Sage and her friends. This book did not disappoint me. You can read what I thought about it back in 2018 here. This is part of my long Vampire Academy and Bloodlines buddy read with Ruby @ Ruby's Books.

“He shouldn't have said that. I don't care if he's not the emotional type or the complimentary type or what. No one can look at you in this dress, in all that fire and gold, and start talking about anachronisms. If I were him, I would have said, 'You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen walking this earth.”

Sydney is thorn between her loyalty to the alchemists and her friends. She was raised to be dedicated member of their group but while other alchemists praise her, her father is awful for her. Sydney is never happy with her and then there's these creatures Sydney was teached to hate but she can't help but care for them and be always there to help them.

I know next to nothing about cars but I found it adorable how exited Sydney gets about them. I guess talking about cars was one of few good things about her childhood. Sydney thinks cars are works of art and engineering.

I love the romance between Sydney and Adrian already. She's clueless of course but you could already see how much he cares about her by little things he does for her. Besides, you got to love how protective they are of each other. You could also see how high opinion Sydney has about Adrian even if she just thinks they're friends,

"You asked about Rose? I tried to be a better person for her-- but it was to impress her, to get her to want me. But when I'm around you, I want to be a better person because... well, because it feels right. Because I want to. You make me want to become something greater that myself. I want to excel. You inspire me in every act, every word, every glance. I look at you , and you're like... like light made into flesh."

All in all great read. This is a slow burn romance I can totally root for and never get bored with.

The last chapter earned this that last star. But I swear if Sage doesn't get her head out of her behind in this next one, I may have a tantrum!

This is the second book in the Bloodlines series (the follow up series after the Vampire Academy series). The scene with the Alchemists at the very start at the book set everything up well, to help show what Sydney is going through internally. You’re brought up to believe one thing, to have one set of prejudices and values, and then you start thinking for yourself and have to reconcile what you’re experiencing with what you learned. Sydney’s sort of straddling two different worlds and she doesn’t want to lose either one, and yet she’s relinquishing the tight control she has over her own life a little, even in her eating habits. Book two also introduces a new external threat to both the vampires and the alchemists. I’m really enjoying Bloodlines even more than I did the Vampire Academy series. It seems deeper. I can’t wait to start number three!

I love Adrian and Rose together, but Adrian and Sydney together is just no. I love them together.

That ending makes me so sad. I'd predicted his love but I always thought that she would break through her preconceived notions.

Nessuno pensiero coerente al momento.
So solo che Richelle Mead con i suoi libri è diventata il mio porto sicuro in cui rifugiarmi.

I love this book so much. A lot more action than the first book which I really enjoined. I am look forward to Sydney's character growing more, as well as the others.

Devoured this book in one sitting.
