Wow... What an interesting world, I especially liked the parts of Dublin that disappeared creepy.....

Jericho and Max were starting to have a little heat... Definitely want to read more

This was a super easy and fun read; it took me less than a day. I think the story is interesting, and I like that it's set in Dublin. However, Mac is such an annoying character, but I'm guessing she's going to be much more likable in the next books since I started to like her more towards the end. I just wish she wouldn't take so many stupid and immature actions.

Świetnie się bawiłam przy tej książce.
Nie jest idealna, główna bohaterka często jest mocno irytująca, ale mam duży sentyment do tej książki. O ile dobrze pamiętam to była pierwsza książka o fea, którą czytałam.

I considered not finishing the book several times as I was reading. I think it could have been a short story once all the blah blah blah was removed. I forced myself to keep reading hoping it would get better. My main problem with it was the rambling in first person. I just wanted to stick to the story. I also agree with other reviewers regarding the use of "Little did I know"...,etc. Why bother to say that? Just let me figure that out within the story. In the end, I felt like those were just a poor choice of teaser to string me along, because I didn't find out what Mac meant by any of those comments. Maybe I missed something, but I was expecting so much more.

I also agree with other reviewers that even though this is a series, each book should be able to stand alone. I felt cheated in the end. It is possible to have a cliffhanger and a full story in one book and leave the reader with satisfaction along with a feeling of anticipation at the same time.

I really want to like this, because it's right up my alley. I love books involving the Fae, and a good murder mystery. And Ireland! It's made for me! I just can't stand Mac. She's the worst. She's spends half the book describing her outfits in detail, and how pretty she is, but "won't bore you with the details" of major plot points. We'll see if I pick up the next one to see if she gets any better.

3.5⭐️ "I used to walk on my feet. Now all I knew how to do was crawl. And I wasn’t sure how long it was going to take for me to get up off my knees and regain my balance, but I suspected that when I did, I would never walk the same way again."

I have soooo many questions. I definitely think this was more of an introduction book like getting everything introduced and set up for the rest of the series but it was still really good. The world is super unique with the folklore and mythology aspects. The world building is so cool and so well done. I also really like this authors writing style. I love the murder mystery aspect of the story as well as this being a war between humans and fae is so cool to read about. I do hope we get more side characters added because that’s the one aspect I feel like we are missing I need more characters. I can't wait to read the rest of this series I feel like this is a great way to start and I can't wait to get further into it!

“One must break with one’s past to embrace one’s future. It is never an easy thing to do. It is one of the distinguishing characteristics between survivors and victims. Letting go of what was, to survive what is.”

"A sidhe-seer without hope, without an unshakable determination to survive, is a dead sidhe-seer. A sidhe-seer who believes herself outgunned, outmanned, may as well point that doubt straight at her temple, pull the trigger, and blow out her own brains."
