2.5 stars. Liked the world building, liked the premise, did not like the characters, got bored after the second half.

Overall, I was disappointed with this book. It was fun and yet boring. I’m intrigued by the fantasy side of the story, but the plot moves slow. The main character was written for the male gaze. She deserves better. There was finally a little character development for her near the end of the book.

this is what i would call easy reading, its just interesting enough to keep you reading with enough twists and turns to make it enjoyable. The only thing i would say is that if you continue to read the whole series, I get frustrated when the Authors fill the book up with recaps of previous books, if your not smart enough to pick up the first books then you don't deserve to know! it could possibly be that the Author was just trying to up the page count. but overall a good read on holiday or long journeys.
