3,5 stars!

This is a really refreshing series. I'm absolutely obsessed with Mac and Barrons! Plus their banter is great. I'm really looking forward to continuing this series and seeing their slow burning romance continue to unravel. I also really want to learn more about the Fae and Alina, and even Barrons and Mac and what their powers are.

Meh. I can't quite give this three stars. Mac is just a grab bag of cool-girl tropes and doesn't really have much substance beyond that. I don't think I'll bother reading any of the sequels.

Loved this book. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book and, honestly, I was a little disappointed. The Fae in this book were not what I was expecting, and that disappointed me a little. I enjoyed the plot, but I was often frustrated by the narration/writing style.

Full review to come on the blog.

This book was not entirely what I expected. I put off reading it because of all the hype, I admit sometimes people loving books so much makes me wary of them. So I put it off for as long as I could, then I gave in when everyone started talking about the release of the final book in the series. MacKayla Lane, what is a good word to describe her... she was very barbie and she lived in her perfect world until her sister is murdered. Then starts the story, her traveling to Ireland and the dangerous Fae, ect.

I didn't like the beginning, the whole book starts off slow to me. It didn't really snag my attention until I was introduced to Barrons. That's where I sat down and really started reading! One thing I didn't really get was Fiona... who was she?.. I mean besides working at the shop.

The artifacts was interesting, also V"lane, he sounded really hot in an arrogant hate-you-love-you kind of way. The ending was to sudden for me, it feels like I should turn the page and there be more!! I will defiantly read the next book, this one was all together a good beginning to the series and I want more Barrons!

Really enjoyed it. I mixed up this and bloodfever...read them in reverse. Like seeing Mac's character get better.

I’m here for this 100%

Okay I’m hooked on this series!! It’s everything I want in a fantasy series currently. It’s Fast paced, quippy, full of snark and sexual tension, and it’s fun!!

Mac is kind of a badass yet she doesn’t even know it. One second she’s all in pink worried about her nails and the next she’s all in black kicking unseelie butt!

I’m not sure if our secondary characters are good or bad yet but I’m enjoying the ride!

One other think I love how she kind of breaks that fourth wall and talks to the reader throughout the book as if she’s reading her journal to the audience. It’s really neat and a lot of fun!

5 stars as always to this amazing beginning to an equally amazing series.

This was a fairly enjoyable read. The world is a bit shallow after the first book, but then the first book really didn't have much of an "ending" - which successfully made me at least want to read the next one for some closure. The only serious complaint I have is the redundancy - if I have to read the word "demarcation" or hear about the "carnality" of the male main character I might puke. If you can get past that it's a nice easily digestible urban fantasy.
