Wow! I could feel the electricity as I read this book. It gave me an entirely new understanding of energy and the nervous system. Grateful for May's candor and compassion, both for herself and others. Still feel like l'm buzzing.

One autistic woman’s account of how autism feels for her and her journey of self-discovery

I picked this up of a sale table in B&N, quite absent mindedly. I was drawn by the fact that I am close enough to the same age as the author and I too feel like I make the best sense of the world when out in nature. I was not expecting to connect to this book so much. She parallels her walking/hiking experience with her self-realization and then later official diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an individual who is very sensory avoidant, I found it relatable and helped give me some reassurance that we are indeed normal even if we're not like everyone else.
